An integrated approach for a challenging life

Chris takes a uniquely integrated approach to rehabilitation and chronic pain management, drawing upon a broad range of manual soft tissue techniques in addition to movement and strength-based training.

We have a holistic and integrated approach to patient health.

During an initial consultation, Chris will almost always begin by doing a thorough assessment and screening of the body’s soft tissue health. Of primary importance here is the mobility of the viscera, nerves, and vascular system. These tissues are referred to by Jean-Pierre Barral as the ‘noble tissues’ because they are essential for life. The body prioritises the health of these tissues over muscular tissue for this reason.

Movement and sound body-mechanics is an essential aspect of any comprehensive approach to rehabilitation and chronic pain management. The human body is an incredibly sophisticated and intelligent machine with an almost infinite capacity to adapt to the demands placed on it. When our bodies suffer injury or trauma, a compensatory movement pattern will result. Once the initial injury has healed and the trauma resolved restoration of optimal movement patterns will often be necessary.
